 National IAOMR UG Convention – 2016 | |  |
National IAOMR UG Convention 2016, conducted by the Indian Academy of Oral Medicine and Radiology was hosted by KMCT Dental College and Government Dental College, Calicut. The convention was held on 16th October, 2016 at the JDT Convention Centre, Calicut. The theme for the convention was “Oral Cancer.” Dr. Gnanasundaram N. (President-Elect, IAOMR) presided over the inaugural session. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Mangalam M. (Registrar, Kerala University of Health Sciences). Dr. Satheesan B. (Director, Malabar Cancer Centre) delivered the keynote address. Dr. Auswaf Ahsan (Organizing Chairman) welcomed the gathering. Dr. Haris P.S. (Organizing Secretary) gave the vote of thanks. Subsequently, Dr. Pradeep Kumar (Principal, KMCT Dental College, Calicut), Dr. Raveendran Nair (Principal, Government Dental College, Calicut), and Dr. K.M. Moidu (Chairman, KMCT Group of Institutions) felicitated the members on the dais. A total of 948 registrants including student and faculty members attended the event. Student registration was Rs. 1000 and faculty was charged Rs. 1500 as the registration fee. Thirty-five colleges, 1 hospital, and private practitioners across India participated in the event. In various scientific sessions, 255 scientific papers, 132 scientific posters, 78 essays, and 11 short films were presented. Twenty-six teams from various colleges actively participated in the quiz competition.
