You can't ever reach perfection, but you can believe in an asymptote toward which you are ceaselessly striving.

Paul Kalanithi, When Breath Becomes Air

I am happy to share with you the small steps we took for the Journal in the year of 2018. We began with minor changes along with a strong aim to focus on the obstacles that kept away our Journal for so long to get indexed in PubMed. We are all aware of the facts regarding the strict protocols and lengthy procedures of evaluation to get a PubMed indexing. We have decided to focus on timely and regular publication and improvement of quality of the published articles. Apart from these, we felt it is the right of the members of IAOMR to get hard copies of the journal. With the diligent members who updated their present addresses, we were successful in ensuring delivery of hard copies under the guidance of EC of IAOMR.

The first goal of timely publication was achieved from the very first issue in January to March 2018. For indexing in PubMed and Medline, the journal needs to publish more research works. It was indeed a big task for the reviewers and the editorial board to select only quality articles. However, we have made it possible and changed the trend of increased publication of more quality research work compared with case reports and reviews.

As a member, many of us are keen to receive the hard copies. This year, when first issue was printed and delivered, we tracked and confirmed the delivery of the journals. To make it more effective and transparent delivery, we have delivered the last issue through speed post. Recently, decision of providing hard copies to only those who have updated their addresses has been taken in EC meeting held at Udaipur. In the same meeting, it was proposed by HG secretary to change existing courier to speed post.

In the EC meeting held in Bangalore, we got approval of having minimal percent of articles from international authors so that we can have good indexing. This resolved the issue of low contribution from our international colleagues. Our cover page further reflects the vicissitudes of our specialty. We highlighted the best four clinical or radiology images on the coper page of every issue.

Don Tapscott said “Collaboration is important not just because it's a better way to learn. The spirit of collaboration is penetrating every institution and all of our lives. So learning to collaborate is part of equipping yourself for effectiveness, problem solving, innovation and life-long learning in an ever-changing networked economy.” All faculty members should consider reviewing the articles and contributing to the subject. We hope to see more members to enroll as reviewers in the website and take active participation. It is also a request to subscribe JIAOMR in your institutes. Abundance of gratitude for reviewers who reviewed the articles and gave unbiased opinion in the year 2018. Your collaboration as reviewer helped journal to maintain the quality.
