With deep humility and great pride, I reach out to my fellow Indian Academy of Oral Medicine and Radiology (IAOMR) members through this editorial. At the outset, I wish to congratulate the editorial team for their consistent efforts in streamlining the journal. I strongly believe that the Journal Committee (JC) has risen today as a strong team in making the Journal of Indian Academy of Oral Medicine and Radiology (JIAOMR) a highly sophisticated compendium of research and review of global standards.

I wish to thank the Honorable President, Honorary Secretary, and all the elite members of IAOMR for their confidence in the JC and their timely support in academic, administrative and financial matters pertaining to the editorial board activities. I also wish to thank all the pioneers and legends of our academy who have been working hard in bringing up our speciality of Oral Medicine and Radiology with their positive support. Without their knowledge and support, our academy would not have scaled new heights today.

A special note of appreciation goes out to the Editor-in-Chief for his tireless effort in working toward the betterment of the journal despite facing many challenges. His outstanding efforts in restructuring and reorganizing the new editorial board are splendid and remarkable. I am highly impressed by the collective hard work put in by the Editor-in-Chief, Assistant Editor, Business Manager, and the other members of the JC in formulating a series of work agenda, time to time, and their precise and effective team work in bringing out all the issues of the journal.

The current focus of the medical and dental fraternity on research activities is overwhelming. I would now call attention to the fact that the need of the hour is for the senior members of the academy to emphasize on finding more ways to improvise research activities not only on scientific grounds but also by creating ways to generate more funds for research and related activities. I also sincerely appreciate the efforts of the Silver Jubilee Committee of IAOMR for coming forward to support the enthusiastic research scholars in our speciality.

I feel proud to know that our fraternity is gaining a good command in managing medically compromised patients, potentially malignant disorders, TMDs, and stress-related orofacial disorders in the advancing world with distressed lifestyles and activities. The way our speciality is advancing toward the latest imaging technologies like CBCT, MRI, virtual reconstructive maxillofacial designing, implant imaging and tele-radiology deserves more publications in spreading the research outcomes in these fields. The establishment of the facts related to useful outcomes of genome therapy, tissue culture, nano-medicine and advanced alternative therapies as adjuvant treatment options for orofacial disorders should be given highest priority for publication in our speciality journal.

I promise my continuous support and involvement in each and every step of the editorial board and I appreciate the involvement of each and every member of IAOMR for their constant support and participation in uplifting our prestigious Journal of Indian Academy of Oral Medicine and Radiology.
